Southern Riverina Veterans
The Southern Riverina Veterans Golf Association November Competition Day was played on Monday at the Berrigan Community Golf and Bowls Club.

Stableford was played with 75 golfers taking part.
Paul Beaver from Finley, on 38 points, claimed the division one trophy, followed by Tocumwal player Denis Myers with 35 points as runner-up.
Colin Rangitonga from Tocumwal, on 39 points, took the division two trophy with Ken Meeham from Cobram Barooga runner-up on 37.
Wayne Crew from Berrigan carded 36 points to win division three, with Trevor Sutton from Cobram Barooga runner-up with 35.
A-grade NTP went to Ashleigh Teagle from Cobram Barooga, B-grade to Ken Meeham from Cobram Barooga, C-grade to John Scandrett from Cobram Barooga and All Grades went Ken Meeham, again, from Cobram Barooga.
Ball competition winners were players who finished with 30 points or better.
Jerilderie
Thursday was Medley Gentsomes, after a night of thunder and rain, which is a fun game for teams of four. Winning team was Geoff & the Three Ducks, comprising Geoff Portbury, Sara Ham, Robyn Ford and Julie Sleigh with 84 pts. Runner up was team Winsomes - Kaye Dalton, Anthea Sutherland, Felicite Aull and Suz Graham with 72 pts. NTP: 15th Geoff Portbury; 16th Robyn Ford, who also had a gobbler on the 2nd.
We welcomed our new golfer Anthea Sutherland to her first 18 hole event and first winning ball.
On the 16th Robyn Ford hit the green for NTP and Sara Ham finished it off for a 2/5 pts. Well done ladies.
Sunday was Medley Stableford in perfect golfing weather. Winner Laurie Blackmore 37 pts, r/u Luke Keating 34. Ball comp Daz Keating, Mick Pitt. NTP: 5th Luke Keating; 7th Mick Pitt; 13th Mick Pitt; 15th Aaron Purcell; 16th Barry Roe.
The ladies will be having a short meeting on Friday at 6pm followed by presentations and dinner at 7pm for both golfers and partner. RSVP to Julie Sleigh 0419 561160.
Thursday is Medley Stableford and Sunday Medley Stroke Flag, both days are 8am for 8.30am.
Finley
On Wednesday, the ladies played stroke for their November Monthly Medal and trophies from Daisy Mae.
Beth White, with a round of 69 net, claimed both the daily trophy and the net medal.
Mary Polkinghorne had 86 gross to claim the scratch medal.
NTP on the 13th was Beth White.
Ball competition winners were Mary Polkinghorne 70, and Kerrie Carlon who had 71 net.
It was Sam Singleton with 42 points who came home the winner when the men played stableford on Wednesday.
NTP on the 18th went to Rob Singleton and Billy’s Ball on the 6th went to Bo Makkinga.
Ball competition winners were Ryan Donkin, Barry Wilson, and Jacob Smith all with 40 points, and Ian Litchfield who had 38 stableford points.
The third round of the new summer season, Thursday afternoon nine-hole competition was played in perfect conditions.
Trevor McCaw had 22 stableford points to come home the winner with Ian Armer 20, Judy Karakai (Berrigan) 20, Mary Polkinghorne 19 and Sue Simpson 19 as winners in the ball competition.
Rob Daniel, with 35 stableford points, made the Catch of the Day at the Friday Fish Tray Competition.
Ryan Donkin was NTP on the 18th and Gai Singleton with 33 and John Taylor who had 32 points were winners in the ball competition.
Saturday was the Finley Palm Motor Inn Day which included the 2023 Medal of Medals event for men and women.
Men’s division winner was Ian Swain on 68 net whilst Sasha Wood on 70 net came home the ladies daily winner.
Men’s scratch Medal of Medals winner was Rob Daniel with 76 gross, with Ray Healey claiming the net division on 72 net.
Sharon Pyle’s gross score of 84 and a net score of 72 allowed her to pick up both the ladies scratch and net Medal of Medals.
NTP on the 18th was Leo McNamara.
Ball competition winners were Rob Daniel 70, John Taylor 71, Ray Healey 72, Sharon Pyle 72, and Julie Gregory 73 net.
In more pleasant weather, it was Tess Dean on 34 points who took the ladies division and Doug Smith had 38 points to claim the men’s when stableford was played for the Peter Middlebrook trophies on Sunday.
NTP on the 18th was Paul Pinnuck and on the 13th it was Sasha Wood.
Ball competition winners were Peter Middlebrook 36, Marty Piggin 36, Ray Healey 35, Rob Daniel 35, and Gai Singleton who had 33 stableford points.
Berrigan
Friday’s winner was Joe Karakai (44-9-35), and runner-up was Matt Whelan (38-2-36).
Matt also won the putting with 14 putts, and ball winner was Beau Walliss (46-9.5-36.5).
Sunday’s winner was Chris Kelly with 38 points, while Maria McDonell was runner-up with 37 points.
Ball winners were Neil Graham and Joe Nicholls, both on 36 points.
Golf presentation night will be held on Saturday, December 2.
A Chinese meal will be available, and the night will kick off from 6.30pm.
On Saturday, December 9 there will be a fun nine hole competition, with Christmas drinks and fun afterwards for everyone.
All new golfers are welcome.
Tee off time is 2pm and there will be fun prizes to be won.
