Finley faced up to Barham High who had easily accounted for Deniliquin in the previous game.
Using the T20 format, Barham bowled first and fielded with rigor and enthusiasm. However, they were hit to all parts by Jordan Swann who was unbeaten on 62 (including 7 fours), Ryan Bauer with 34 (3 fours) and Logan Eldridge 30 (2 fours). Finleyset a very competitive total of 4/144 from 20 overs bowled.
In the field, the Finley bowling approach was equally competitive, despite some near misses and dropped chances. Evan Lawton was the pick of the bowlers with 2/9.
Ultimately, Barham’s run chase fell short posting 5/109, Finley being the victor by 35 runs.
I would like to thank Katrina Chellew and Greg Lawton for assisting with transporting students and scoring duties.
Finley High School’s next opponent will be Corowa High School, to be played at the Finley Recreation Reserve with the date to be confirmed.
The team consisted of Ryan Bauer, Jordan Swann, Archie Chellew, Chase Dickins, Evan Lawton, Oliver East, Logan Eldridge, Josh Monteath, Lucas Baron, James Winn and James White.
