Finley Golf Club hosted Deniliquin for the grand final, and managed to win on home soil, 3-2.
A big thank you to all clubs involved for their continued support, and for making a successful season.
There were eight teams involved this year - Finley, Deniliquin, Corowa, Yarrawonga and two teams each from Tocumwal and Cobram.
Tocumwal
The new clubhouse and pro shop was opened last week at Club Tocumwal, which set the tone for a wonderful week of golf.
Monday was the Medley 9 Hole Competition, played as stableford on the north course.
A-grade: Gregory Hales 21, Jan Campbell 20.
B-grade: Bronwen De Pomeroy 16.
Tuesday’s women’s comp was Canadian Foursomes
Overall winners were Kerry Conrad and Cheryl Hart with 73.375.
Second was Michelle Purtill and Maxine Sadler with 76.26, on countback to Libby Quick and Denise Baldwin with 76.25.
The Wednesday Medley was stableford on the south course.
A-grade: Colin McNamara 39, Ray Watmore 37 C/B, Phil Nunn 37.
B-grade: Scott Barber 39, Ricky Bourke 38, Brian Morgan 37.
C-grade: John Scandrett 39, Leigh Chapman 38, John Wilson 36.
Saturday’s medley comp was stableford on the north course.
A-grade: Logan Taylor 39, Casey Chandler 38 C/B, John Crilly 38 C/B.
B-grade: Rocky Perri jnr 47, Shellei Clark 42, Brian Morgan 38.
C-grade: Donald Shaw 41 C/B, Susan Davies 41, Joy Francis 38 C/B.
The Junior Club Championships were played over the weekend - on the north course on Saturday, and the south course on Sunday.
All our juniors played impressive golf, with the results being very tight at the end.
Our 2026 Junior Club Champion is Reuben Haley.
Finley
Wednesday’s competition was stableford medley, and the Division 1 winner was Ian Armer jnr with 37 points.
Division 2 winner was Rob Klemke with 39 points.
Ball winners were Deb Shaw 39 points, Barry Wilson 36 points, Matt Daniel 34 points, Paul Pinnuck 33 points and Tess Dean 32 points on C/B.
NTP on the 18th was Deb Shaw.
Thursday’s nine hole competition winner was Trevor McCaw with 18 points.
Ball winners were Colin McNamara with 17 points and Matt Daniel with 16 points on C/B.
On Saturday, the competition was stroke/monthly medal.
The women’s nett medal winner was Maree Doyle with 92/25/67 nett.
Sharon Pyle won the scratch medal with 89.
Ball competition winners were Annie Wood 68 nett, Helen McRae 70 nett, Joanne Dean 73 nett and Sharon Pyle 74 nett on C/B.
The men’s Division 1 winner and nett medal winner was Barry Wilson with 86/18/68 nett.
Division 2 winner was Robert Ross with 87/19/68 nett.
Ian Armer jnr won the scratch medal with 76.
Balls went to Tim Price and James Braybon on 71 nett, John Taylor and Tony Smith 72 nett, Mark O’Brien, Zack Walsh, and Ray Healey all with 74 nett.
NTP on the 13th was Kim McCaw, and Matt Whelan on the 18th hole.
On Sunday it was stableford medley, and the Division 1 winner was Michael Dean with 40 points.
Division 2 winner was Jade Duroux with 43 points.
Ball winners were Jake Evans 40 points, Mary Polkinghorne and Alan Hand 39 points, Jason Pyle 35 points, and Leo McNamara 34 points.
Congratulations to the Finley team on winning the 2026 Mid Murray Fourball Pennant final, which played on Sunday.
After a hard-fought match, Finley defeated Deniliquin 3-2.
Berrigan
Wednesday's winner was Chris Kelly (42-35), and runner-up was Spike Salter on nett 36.
Beau Walliss won the putting with 14 putts, and was the ball winner with 37 nett.
Friday's winner was Wayne Crew (51-17-34), and runner-up was Jake Dalgliesh (49-15-34).
John Walker won the putting with 14 putts, and ball winners were Dave Midson (52-16.5-35.5), Alan Arnold (44-8.5-35.5) and Geoff Tait (50-14-38).
Saturday's winner was Steve Senini (44-9-35), and runner-up was Maria McDonnell (55-19.5-35.5).
Chris Cameron won the putting with 12 putts, and ball winner was Alan Arnold (45-8.5-36.5).
Sunday's winner was Jake Dalgliesh with a nett 67, runner up was Chris Kelly with nett 70.
Next Sunday is the one person ambose day, with tee off at 9.30am.
This is an 18 hole event, and a great day for players of all golf levels.
Cost is $20 per head, which includes barbecue lunch.
Jerilderie
The Wednesday Medley Stableford competition was won by Denise Boland with 30 pts, on c/b from Kerrie McLennan.
NTP 15th second shot went to Denise Boland.
The Weekly 9 hole Stableford competition ending 17 January was won by Jeremy Bryce with a fantastic 22 points, and
runner-up David Hercus with 16 pts.
Sunday Medley Stableford was won by Campbell Rowan with a great 40 pts, and runner-up on c/b was Laurie Blackmore with 38 pts.
Ball winners were Alex Pound and Carl Pound.
