The Demons were no match for the Kats, eventually going down by 15 goals, despite competing hard throughout the afternoon but being unable to contain Katandra’s ball movement and scoreboard pressure.
Despite the margin, Jerilderie continued to work until the final siren, with the side showing plenty of resilience against one of the competition’s strongest outfits.
There were patches where Jerilderie moved the ball with purpose and created opportunities going forward, but Katandra capitalised on turnovers and made the most of their chances in front of goal.
While the result wasn’t what the Demons were after, there were still positives to take from the contest as the group continues to build towards the second half of the season.
The focus now turns to regrouping on the training track, learning from the performance and responding strongly in next week’s challenge.
Final score: Katandra 21.10 (136) def Jerilderie 6.10 (46).

The third quarter was a genuine arm wrestle, with both sides battling hard and neither team giving an inch.
The Demons finished the game strongly, spending plenty of time attacking in the final quarter and never giving up.
While Katandra came away with the win, the Jerilderie players showed terrific determination, teamwork and resilience from start to finish. It was a great effort by all the boys.
