It was a physical hit out from the get-go, but the girls showed great character and strength by never giving up or getting frustrated.
Best on court went to Rebecca Mitchell, who is such a speedy pocket rocket. She ran all game while applying pressure and creating turnovers.
Jessica Daunt was a very welcome inclusion into the team in her first hit out since her baby arrived.
Her pressure in defence and rebounding ability really helped to slow the Picola shooters’ attack.
Sienna Reid is improving each game in her defensive movement and ability to read the play. She pulled in some rebounds and had some good contests.
Credit must also go to Ella Breen and Brooke Pitt who ran their hearts out through the mid-court all game, and Katie Gurcuillo who sank a few great goals when the opportunity arose.
Thanks to Ella Macauley, Shikaya Hall and Mikayla King who all stepped in to fill the team this week.
All three were important inclusions bringing pressure, speed and accurate ball movement to the side, and providing fresh legs for a rolling sub in the warm weather.
