Reserves:
The boys came up against some tough competition in Picola.
They had a decent crack but weren’t able to hold with them for the complete four quarters, showing some great signs and some good individual improvements but unfortunately just lacked extra manpower.
Dave Hercus and Zac Rochford led the way through the midfield and pushing forward.
Jae Moore Lambert and Corey Curtis also played well.
Final score: Jerilderie 2.7 (19) def by Picola United 9.6 (60).
Thirds:
Five players ran out to start the game against Picola, waiting on nine under-14s kids to make up the numbers.
It was an even game with the Dees spirit on display.
All the youngsters gave it 100 per cent and took the game on with plenty of heart.
After every break the Dees came out firing, perhaps thanks to their captain’s inspirational speeches in the huddle.
Four quarters of intensity, teamwork, grit and determination all led to a mark from a young Demon in the dying seconds of the game.
A quick handball to a teammate then an enormous roost through the big sticks stole the lead for Jerilderie, handing them their first win of the season.
A wonderful effort by all on the field.
Final score: Jerilderie 7.12 (54) def Picola United 8.4 (52).

Fourths:
From the first bounce, the young team showed heart, hustle and an unshakable team spirit.
While the opposition found the goals with ease, our players never dropped their heads.
They chased every ball, laid strong tackles, and kept encouraging each other right to the final siren.
The backline worked overtime under pressure, and midfielders covered enormous ground all day.
There were glimpses of brilliance, with great passages of play and a few near misses that had the crowd cheering.
Losses like these build character, and if there was a ladder for courage, effort, and team spirit, JFNC under-14s would be right at the top.
On to this week, heads high and boots ready!
