In perfect weather the home team Cobram/Barooga took the trophy in a very close competition, and the winner on the day was Narelle Bolton from Cobram/Barooga with 38 points. Finley’s winner was Mary Polkinghorne with 36 pts.
Ball competition winners were those who finished with 32 points or better.
With 39 points Lindsay Donkin came home the winner when Stableford was played on Wednesday. NTP on the 18th went begging and Billy’s Ball on the 6th went to Chick Braybon.
Ball competition winners were Rob Hawkes 37, Doug Smith 35 and Rand Wilson, who had 32 Stableford points.
In windy conditions, the second round of the new summer season Thursday afternoon nine-hole competition was played.
With 20 Stableford points, Sue Simpson the winner, with Rob Klemke on 19 and Kellie White on 16 the winners in the ball competition.
The mail must have not got through, which left the Finley locals to enjoy the perfect weather and the 2023 Penrite Teams Day all to themselves.
The tournament, with Stableford played off the red tees, saw, with a total of 111 points and taking the major trophy the team of Lindsay Donkin, Ray Healey, and Brett Murphy.
Barry Wilson with 38 Stableford points claimed Division One with Joanne Dean on 37 as runner-up. In Division Two, with 41 points, Janet Delmenico came home the winner followed by junior golfer, Jacob Smith, on 39.
NTP on the 3rd was Deborah Pyke, on the 6th Jacob Smith, on the 11th Leo McNamara, on the 13th Kaye Sutton and on the 18th Bob Makkinga. Ball competition winners were Linda Rendell 36, Paul Beaver 35, Anne Freestone 35, Peter Wood 35, Beth White 35, and Marian Ayres who had 34 Stableford points.
The Barooga Sporties provided the trophies when V-Par was played on Saturday. After countback on +4 Mark Newton was the men’s division winner and Sue Simpson was the day’s ladies’ division winner, again after countback, with +2.
NTP on the 13th was Mary Polkinghorne and on the 18th it was Sam Hurlston. Ball competition winners were Barry Wilson +4, Tony Smith +3, Colin McNamara +2, Mary Polkinghorne +2 and Jenni Corcoran who finished on +1.
Sunday was the AG Warehouse Stroke Day for men and women.
The lady winner on the day was Annie Wood with 67 net while the men’s division winner was, after countback, Doug Smith on 68 Net.
NTP on the 18th was Rodger Sutton and it was Annie Wood with 29 putts who took out the ladies’ putting competition.
Ball competition winners were Bob Makkinga 68, Tony Smith 71, Chick Braybon 71, Brett Murphy 71, and Sue Simpson who had 76 Net.

Friday’s winner was Jeff Stein (42-10.5-31.5), runner up was Paul McVicar (43-11-32), and Jeff also won the putting with 11 putts.
Ball winners were Ferdie Winkler (52-16.5-35.5) and Steve Senini (49-12.5-36.5).
Saturday’s winner was Steve Senini (46-12.5-33.5), while Maria McDonell (52-18-34) was runner-up, and Gail Browne was both the ball winner (42-6.5-35.5) and also the putting, with 14 putts.
Sunday’s winner was Joe Nicholls (93-22-71), and the runner up was Dave Midson (105-33-72). Joe also won the putting with 27 and Lachlan Whelan was the ball winner (87-15-72).
Special mention, and congratulations to, Lachlan Whelan, who had an eagle on the 7th hole, a 470m Par 5.
Next Sunday will be a Stableford, with tee off at 12.30pm.
