On a hot Saturday afternoon Finley won the toss and elected to bat with solid contributions from Justin Crowley, Russell Anderson (24 n.o.) and Murray Urqhart (10). After 39 overs the Cats were all out for 81.
Finley made Cobram work for the small total, but they were able to chase it down with four wickets in hand. Bailey Coombs was the standout with the ball taking 5/41 off his nine overs, while Archie Mason took 1/30 off nine.
The Finley Bakery and Patisserie player’s player award went to Bailey Coombs for his first A grade five wicket haul.
The Cats look forward to a tight contest this week against Tocumwal at Finley.

Finley Under-14s played Tocumwal at home. The Cats batted first with Ryan Bauer (42 n.o.) retiring and James Winn (3) giving the team a great start. Tocumwal had some very handy bowlers who limited the young Cats to 7/86.
Jason Hay, Angus Urquhart and Ryan Bauer all picked up one wicket, but the standout bowler for the cats was James Winn taking 5/12 off four overs. The cats should be very happy with their performance holding a 19 run lead against Tocumwal, who will resume at 8/67.

On Thursday night the Finley under 17s came up against Katunga. The Cats won the toss and elected to bat first.
Wickets fell regularly throughout the innings but there were some strong performances from Logan Eldridge and Lachlan Whelan who helped get the score to 49 after only 24 overs.
The Cats went into bowl for the remaining 16 overs with Katunga chasing 50 runs for the win. Lachlan Whelan took 2/16 off of his four overs with Nathan Brown being the standout with the ball taking 2/15 off five overs.
Katunga chased down the runs fairly easily in the end with the Swans electing to finish the game, with no need to go back this week.
