Despite the freezing and windy conditions, Blighty fought hard from the first whistle to the last, with our defensive pressure being the standout of the match.
A huge congratulation to under-15s player, Lily Petersen, who stepped up to play a full game at GD alongside Alicia Osborne in GK.
The pair had the difficult task of containing a very accurate goal attack, but they worked tirelessly together and should be incredibly proud of their performance.
Ash and Ella Charlton once again played a fantastic game, showing great connection on court and working seamlessly together.
The girls played with confidence, enjoyed themselves and showed just how much this team is continuing to grow.

B-grade: Blighty 34 def by Mathoura 38.
In a game that truly felt like a grand final, the girls gave it everything they had.
It was a tight contest from the first whistle to the last, but unfortunately, we fell just short of the win.
The ladies worked incredibly hard and focused on putting everything we had practised at training into action.
Georgia Moody and Megan Gull combined brilliantly in defence before Megan switched ends to goal shooter, where she put in an outstanding performance.
Through the midcourt, Dakini Hall continued to re-offer, worked tirelessly to win any loose balls, and was always an option.
Amy Gretgrix returned to Wing Attack after a few weeks out with illness and played a fantastic game.
Tess Lloyd, Siale Pitson and Carla Crossley all applied strong defensive pressure, provided great leads, and worked hard from start to finish.
Alex Barry and Sammy Watson combined beautifully in the goal circle, working hard to convert every opportunity they were given.
A special mention to Amelia Hay, who stepped up from the under-17s and gave her all in defence during the second half. She should be incredibly proud of her effort.
Having the other Blighty senior teams cheering us on throughout the final quarter was something exceptional and created a moment we'll all remember.

C-grade: Blighty 32 def Mathoura 29.
The C-grade girls played their best game of the season, and it all paid off with their first win over Mathoura.
The girls came out focused, worked incredibly hard, and played outstanding netball from the first whistle to the last.
Unfortunately, Emma Brain was unavailable this weekend due to injury, but Suzette Van der Berg stepped into the shooting circle and did a fantastic job. Her height, positioning, and composure under the post were outstanding.
Rach Bucholtz was once again at her best, working tirelessly to beat the defence and playing another solid game.
Grace Reid delivered the ball into the circle with precision and created some fantastic passages of play.
The midcourt was sensational. Mikayla Collie, Ciara D’Aprile, and Krystle Winter all played stellar games, working relentlessly all over the court and barely putting a foot wrong. Their teamwork and drive were a huge part of today’s success.
In defence, Niccola Stanworth was outstanding, showing incredible grit and determination and never giving up on a contest. Her improvement throughout the season has been wonderful to watch.
Ruby Williams made the most of her height, fought hard for every contest, and was rewarded with some crucial turnovers.
Bec Rourke was also instrumental in today’s win, bringing intensity and determination and fighting hard right until the final whistle.

C-reserve: Blighty 10 def by Mathoura 35.
The Redeyes started the game with plenty of positivity and determination, however too many unforced errors and turnovers made it difficult to build momentum throughout the match.
Belle Grant and Alena Larmour worked tirelessly in the goal ring, constantly creating opportunities and never giving up despite the pressure from the Mathoura defence.
In midcourt, Jess Butcher and Sarah Nihill showed just how much they have improved this season.
They worked tirelessly to move the ball through the court, creating opportunities in attack and always giving their teammates options.
Bronte O’Brien also had a strong game in WD, working hard all day and coming away with some great intercepts that helped create opportunities for the team.
In defence, Juliet Barber continued to show huge improvement, working brilliantly alongside Grace Ingram and Carissa Godfrey.
Renee Huckin was also outstanding, moving through a number of positions and using her versatility to help keep the team on track throughout the match.
Bec Rourke made an instant impact when she took the court, bringing fresh energy and intensity to the game. She settled in quickly and made a valuable contribution to the team.

Under-17s: Blighty 22 def by Mathoura 40.
Blighty’s defensive pressure this week was consistent, creating turnovers and opportunities down in attack.
The Timbercutters had tall defenders, proving difficult for us to attack in the ring.
When we managed our own team play, we produced some great netball but couldn’t sustain for the four quarters.

Under-15s: Blighty 25 def Mathoura 22.
Blighty under-15s battled through bitterly cold conditions to record a determined victory over Mathoura in a tough and closely contested match.
Despite the challenging conditions, Blighty showed great resilience, working hard to capitalise on their opportunities and maintain their composure when the game was on the line.
Ella Charlton was consistent in goals with strong leads and accurate shooting. While Lily Petersen led in defence with numerous turnovers.
Mathoura continued to apply pressure throughout the contest, but Blighty's determination, teamwork, and defensive effort proved the difference.
Lexie Hines and Alexis Bucholtz kept the ball moving through the midcourt with every player contributing to a strong team performance, with consistent effort across the court helping secure the three-goal win.

Under-13s: Blighty 13 def by Mathoura 20.
It was a close game, but unfortunately Mathoura pulled away in the last quarter for the win.
Despite the scoreboard, the girls played an impressive game and never gave up.
Selma Van Der Berg played a brilliant game in GK and GD, providing plenty of turnovers and defensive pressure in the goal ring.
Georgie Butcher stepped it up in this close game, doing all the defensive strategies we have been practising and maintained the positive vibes on the court.
Isla Andrews played another beautiful game in the midcourt, opening up space, always being an option and never stopped running.

The minis came up against Mathoura for one of our best games of the season.
Olivia Butcher stood out as her positive attitude on court. She helped move the ball around effortlessly, coming forward into the play.
Jewel Winter and Eloise Hay worked hard to get rebounds in defence but also to follow shot in attack, creating turnovers for the team.
