Southern Riverina Veterans
The November Southern Riverina Veteran Golfer Association game day was played at the Berrigan Community Golf and Bowling Club on Monday.

Stableford was played and Greg Brooks from Cobram Barooga, on 37 points, took the A-grade trophy. Ross Trevean from Club Tocumwal, also on 37 points, was runner-up.
Jeff Stein from Berrigan had 39 to claim B-grade, with Berrigan’s Paul McVicar runner-up with 37.
Leigh Franklin from Club Tocumwal scored 44 points to win C-grade, with Rand Wilson from Finley getting 39 as runner-up.
Brooks added the A-grade NTP to his day.
No B-grade player could find the green.
C-grade NTP went to Anthony Maynard from Cobram Barooga, and All-grades was claimed by Ed Brown from Club Tocumwal.
Ball competition winners were players who had 31 stableford points or better.
Finley
On Wednesday, our women played Stroke/Monthly Medal, and the winner was Tess Dean with 88/26/62 net.
Runner-up was Kellie White with 85/16/69 net.
Ball winners were Kim McCaw 70 net, Hannah Kelly 71 net, and Maree Doyle 74 net on C/B.
Dean also won the putting competition with 30 putts.
In the men’s stableford competition, the winner was Leo McNamara with 33 points.
Ball winners were Bo Makkinga and Lindsay Donkin, each with 31 points on C/B.
In the 9-Hole Thursday competition, the winner was Colin McNamara with 19 points on C/B.
Ball winners were Grant Shaw (19) and John Taylor (18 on C/B).
Anyone interested in playing in the Thursday competition is advised that tee times are from 3pm until 5pm.
Groups will be drawn from those present at the time, or organise your own group (if playing later) and ring the club to let the starter know.
Saturday’s competition was the Mixed Foursomes over 36 holes, and the 2025 Champions are Bobette Wilkinson and Colin McNamara with 173.
The daily net winners were Kellie White and Tony Smith with 174/30/144 net, from runners-up Helen Wastle and John Taylor with 179/32/147 net.
Ball winners were Linda Rendell and John Taylor with 149 net, and Kim and Trevor McCaw with 150 net.
There was also a men’s stableford competition for those without partners, and the winner was Bo Makkinga 34 points.
Ball winners were Rand Wilson (33) and Jake Smith (29 on C/B).
NTPs: 3rd Smithy; 6th Kim McCaw; 11th Bobette Wilkinson; 13th Annie Wood.
On Sunday, the competition was medley in stableford, and the winner was Susan Simpson on 40 points.
Ball winners were Marty Piggin (38) and Jason Pyle (33 on C/B).
Also, on Sunday, 10 of our men travelled to Corowa for the first round of the Mid-Murray Fourball Pennant and came away with a 3/2 win.

Berrigan
Wednesday's winner was Jeff Stein with 49-38, and runner-up was Chris Kelly.
Beau Walliss won the putting, and was also ball winner.
Friday's winner was John Winglester (39-5-34) and runner-up was Joe Nicholls (44-10-34).
Joe also won the putting with 14 putts, and ball winners were Sandy Moar (57-16.5-34.5) and Dave Midson (52-17.5–34.5).
Saturday's winner was Simon Packer (44-11-33), and runner-up was Geoff Tait (50-15-35).
Chris Cameron won the putting with 12 putts, and ball winner was Wayne Crew (53-35.5).
Sunday's winner on a three-way count back was Dave Midson (105-70), and runner-up was Bradley Vale on 70 net.
Doug Cameron won the putting with 25 putts, and was also ball winner on 70 net.
This week, golf will be on Wednesday with tee off at 1.30pm, Friday tee off at 3pm, Saturday tee off is at 2pm and Sunday 18 holes tee off is at 12.30pm.
Tocumwal
Club Tocumwal was brimming with action and perfect spring weather last week.
Monday’s 9 Hole comp was played as stableford on the President’s course, and overall winner was Marc Startari with 21.
Tuesday was Melbourne Cup Day, and the annual Melbourne Cup Tournament.
Despite the gloomy start to the day, the rain held out for the most part of the comp and a great day on the course was had by all.
Men’s winners:
A-grade: Ray Watmore 39 C/B, runner-up Adam Naylor 39.
B-grade: Greg Lawler 40, runner-up Chris Sott 37.
Women’s winners:
A-grade: Christine Hadland 38, runner-up Carmel Butcher 37.

The Wednesday Men’s comp was played over on the President’s course.

On Sunday, we had a big day at the course with the men’s and women’s Sunday comp on the President’s course, and the Sunday afternoon junior competition also on the President’s.

The Sunday afternoon junior comp was well attended, and was won by Hunter McMaster.
Jerilderie
Wednesday was medley stableford, and the winner was Margo Gregory with 32 points. Runner-up was Denise Boland on 31 points.
NTPs on the 13th, 16th and 15th (second shot) all went to Denise Boland.
Sunday was round one of the Mixed Foursomes Championships, which was won by Luke Keating and Daz Keating with net 73.
NTPs: 5th Daz Keating, 7th Stephen Dalgliesh, 16th Lee Rowan, 15th (second shot) Daz Keating.
