The club has seen record numbers attending bowls training and social bowls during the lead up to the season and have a total of 25 bowlers competing in the club championships over the coming weeks.
Jerilderie one have been promoted to Division 2, having qualified for promotion at the completion of last year.
The side skippered by John Bryce got off to a great early start and maintained that for a strong win.
The team skippered by Greg Collier led early, but fell away in the middle ends against a talented Wunghnu side.
First year bowler Luke Keating showed promise and will have learned a lot from his first pennant game.
The side skippered by Mick Pitt faced arguably Wunghnu’s best team, and struggled in the swirling conditions.
Eventually Wunghnu won the day two games to one, and by a narrow margin of eight shots, 59-51.
In Division 5 the team skippered by Allan Valerius battled hard all day to consolidate a narrow lead in the last few ends, to win by three shots.
The team skippered by Lucy Gurciullo came close to a win, but closed in on a narrow win in the final ends.
In a great result, Jerilderie won Division 5 by the narrowest of margins, 1-all and 36-35 overall - a great result.
This week sees the Division 2 team travel to Finley and Division 5 to Cobram.

Berrigan
The Berrigan Curlews opened their pennant season on Saturday with several close contests across all divisions.
Division 5 had the most successful outing, edging out Cobram in a nail-biting finish with a combined score of 38 shots to 37.
The standout performance came from the team of Myles Humphries, Louise Glanvill and Gavin Schweicker, who secured a solid 25-19 win on their rink, paving the way for the overall victory.
Division 3 faced strong opposition and were defeated by Cobram, 75 shots to 44.
The team of David Fox, Val Chisholm, Peter Blake and Barry Hutchinson managed an impressive 21-14 win.
Division 1 took on Barooga in a series of closely contested games.
The rink of Rick Bradbury, Matt Hansen, Jack Buckman and Jason Milich narrowly lost 22-23.
Meanwhile, Rob Lillis skipped his team of Paul McVicar, Graeme Clements and Geoff Blake to a tight 18-17 victory.
Despite these close matches, Berrigan Division 1 went down overall, 46 shots to Barooga’s 74.
For those wishing to have a taste of bowls, Berrigan barefoot bowls season starts up again on Wednesday, October 22 - 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.
The fee of $10 per person includes a sausage sizzle.
No bowls or experience is necessary, and participants play in teams of three.
