In last week’s Midweek Pennant round, we played Cobram at home, with Cobram going away with a narrow win.
Barry Hutchinson skipped Elaine Hawkins and Gayle Reynoldson to a one-point victory, while Roger Reynoldson, Rachel Glanvill and Glenys McKay lost by two shots.
The hot weather forecast on Saturday meant an early start to Weekend Pennant bowls, with all teams playing at home.
Division 1 had a tough day on the greens against a strong Numurkah side, going down 47 to 70 shots.
The best team on the day was Graeme Clements, Laurie Way, Alex Dalgliesh and Graeme Parr, who lost by four shots.
Division 3 faced strong opposition from Barooga, going down 51-80 shots.
Two teams lost by two shots, giving Barooga a run for their money.
Barry Hutchinson, Peter Blake, Paul McVicar and David Fox lost 17-19.
Matthew Hansen, Kelly Milich, Myles Humphries and Greyd’n Davis fought hard and lost by two shots 21-23.

The Midweek Pennant travelled to Barooga with high hopes last week, after recent results, but returned home after going down in all three rinks.
Final score was 38-86, with B Smith’s rink losing 16-18, B Ferry’s side going down 16-31 and N Tabe team falling 6-37.
Because of the heatwave, yesterday’s round was cancelled.
It has left us on the bottom of the ladder.
In Weekend Pennant, Division 2 came up against Club Tocumwal on Satuirday.
We had a strong win, 62-44, to move us into the top four for the first time this season.
J Finnerty’s side won 28-6, G Haines’ 28-2 and B Smith and team lost 6-29.
This weekend, weather permitting, Division 2 travel to Wunghnu in a must win game.
Division 4 returned to the winners' mode against Club Tocumwal, 82-44.
T Scoullar’s side won 29 to 10, N Barnes and crew won 34-11 and B Ferry’s team had a 19-23 win, to climb to third position.
The team travel to the leaders this weekend, away to Cobram.

On Saturday, our number one ticket member Bob Poore celebrated his 96th birthday.
Our oldest member, Bob Wike at a young 98, is recovering from heart surgery and hoping to return to bowling soon.
Everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.
