As last year’s premiers, we knew Katandra would be a well-drilled side, but our aim was to prove we could compete, and we did exactly that.
Katandra started strongly, and it took us a little while to settle, but a much-improved second half saw us win both the third and fourth quarters.
There were plenty of positives to take from the game, especially our attitude and fight.
Ella Baldwin played her best game so far, cutting and driving hard to circle edge and feeding beautifully into the circle.
Claire Doyle was rock solid in defence as always, leading from the back and keeping the voice up.
The Alice Adcock Medal for best on court in the A-grade netball match went to Rhiannan Maxwell, and was presented by Greg Watmore.

B-grade: Tocumwal 37 def by Katandra 49.
Our second and third phases really put pressure on the opposition, and the shooters combined well, keeping strong balance in the ring and converting their opportunities.
Defensively, it was a full-game effort, with constant pressure applied right across the court.
A special mention to AJ and Lucy, who, after a tough game in the under-17s, stepped up to the B-grade court and gave us invaluable support throughout the entire match.

In warm conditions, the girls battled hard in a tough contest today. A huge shout out to the defence for their outstanding work, while our under-17s stepped up and found their place in the team.
There were some great passages of play down the court, and the side is starting to find its flow.

What a game from the girls in a high-intensity, high-quality contest.
Every player stepped up and played their role in an outstanding team performance.
It was one of those games where every player could have received an award. A performance the girls should be incredibly proud of.

The girls started strongly and executed what they have been working on at training beautifully.
The final quarter brought added pressure, but the team continued to compete hard.
Our midcourters were outstanding, producing great intercepts and strong leads onto the ball.

Our under-15s played a strong contest all game, showing great first and second efforts from start to finish.
It was a solid team performance full of determination and resilience from every player on the court.
Their willingness to keep working, apply pressure, and back each other up was a standout.

Under-13s: Tocumwal 33 def Katandra 9.
The girls put together another strong performance today, continuing to show improvement each week.
Their decision-making was excellent, while the set plays worked on at training were executed well throughout the game.
Defensive pressure was a standout once again, creating plenty of turnovers, and their transition into attack was sharp with players consistently finding the right space on court.

Under-11s: Not scored.
Our under-11s produced a fantastic team performance this week, with the improvement from training shining through on game day.
While scores are not recorded, the growth in teamwork, confidence, and understanding across the court was clear to see.
A special mention to under-9s players Skyla, Lilah, and Georgia, who stepped up and all did an outstanding job.

Wednesday night netball
Our under-13 Reserves made a strong start to the season against Cobram Tigers under-13s, going down 21 to15 in a competitive contest.
It was pleasing to see the girls putting their training into practice, particularly with strong defensive pressure and hands over the ball.
A great first-up team effort with plenty to build on.
