Finley Women’s Open
On Wednesday, in perfect conditions, Finley’s female golfers welcomed others from Berrigan, Cobram, Coleambally, Deniliquin, Howlong, Lake Boga Jerilderie, and Tocumwal, for the 2024 Mark II Golf Carts Women’s Open Tournament.

Open Division scratch winner with 80 off the stick was Pauline Davis from Deniliquin, with Bobette Wilkinson from Tocumwal on 89 as runner-up.
Division Two went to hometown player Helen Wastle on 90 gross, with Jean Youl from Lake Boga on 97 as runner-up.
In Division Three it was Finley’s Karen Litchfield with 104 who took the trophy. Fellow Finley golfer Linda Rendell had 109 to be runner-up.
Open Division net winner was Helen Crilly from Tocumwal on 75 net, from Finley’s Mary Polkinghorne, after countback on 77 net.
The Division Two net trophy was claimed by Tess Dean from Finley with 74 net, from Finley’s Janet Delmenico on 76 net.
Division Three net winner was Di Rutherford from Jerilderie with 77 net, while Finley’s Hannah Kelly had 78 net to be runner-up.
Division One NTP was Helen Crilly (Tocumwal), Division Two could not find the green, and Division Three was claimed by Di Rutherford from Jerilderie.
Finley
Replacing the men’s stableford missed on Wednesday, a stableford event was played which included two rounds of the Thursday winter nine hole competition.
Steve McRae, with 36 points, claimed the 18 Hole Drummond Golf-Albury event and also the front nine event with a score of 19 points.
Rob Singleton, on 20, took out the back nine event.
NTP on the 18th was Ian Armer.
Ball competition winners were Rob Singleton 35, Rob Daniel 33, Marty Piggin 33, and Matt Daniel who finished with 32 stableford points.
Saturday was a long day with 36 holes being played to decide both the men’s and women’s 2024 Foursomes Championships.
At the end of the day there were two pairings of women who finished with a 36 hole off-the-stick total of 187.
After a sudden death playoff, which took three trips up the par three 18th hole, it was Janet Delmenico and Bobette Wilkinson who claimed the women’s championship.
With a 36 hole scratch total of 155, the men’s championship was taken out by Rob and Matt Daniel.
The women’s event of the daily competition, supported by Heather Daniel and Pam Angove, was taken out by Kaye Sutton and Linda Rendell with a net total of 147.
In the men’s division of the daily competition, which is annually recognised as the Doug Wastle Memorial Day, Rob and Matt Daniel had 143 net to take the winner’s trophy.
Paul Beaver and Billy Smith on 144 net receiving the runner-up trophy.
Matt Daniel claimed NTP on the 18th and on the 13th it was Sharon Pyle.
Ball competition winners were Janet Delmenico and Bobette Wilkinson 151, Doug Smith and Barry Wilson 154, Ian Armer and Matt Whelan 154 with Mary Polkinghorne and Kellie White who finished on 155 net.
It was a quieter day on Sunday when stroke was played for trophies from Finley Pilates and Clinical Myotherapy.
After countback, Grant Shaw with 73 net was the men’s division winner with Mary Polkinghorne on 72 net was the winner of the women’s division.
NTP on the 18th went begging and Mary Polkinghorne, with 25 putts, claimed the women’s putting competition.
Ball competition winners were Paul Pinnuck 73, Matt Wilson 75 and Janet Delmenico with 81 net.
Tocumwal
The ladies kicked off the month on Tuesday, July 2, playing stableford on the president’s course.
A-grade: Lynda Jolly 40, r/u Petra Wilmot 33.
B-grade: Jillian Collins 36, r/u Jan Taylor 35.
On Wednesday, the men played stableford on the president’s course.
A-grade: Gavin Smith 40 c/b Ben Kerr, 3rd Malcolm Dickson 37.
B-grade: Ross Clark 37 c/b Codi Bowden, 3rd Ronny Huy 35 c/b.
C-grade: Peter Stokes Snr 39, r/u Graham Owen 36, 3rd Robert Dishon 35.
D-grade: Rodney Jackson 39, r/u Philip Howe 36 c/b Chase Jarjoura.
On Saturday, the comp was par on the president’s course.

B-grade: Kerry Conrad +1, c/b Ann Clement.
Men:
A-grade Daryl Nalder +3, r/u Darran Rowe +1, 3rd Rodney Smith 0.

On Sunday, the ladies played stableford and the men played stroke for their monthly medal on the Captain’s Course.

Berrigan
Friday’s winner was Neil Graham (50-13-37), runner-up was Beau Walliss (48-8.5-39.5). Beau also won the putting with 12.
Ball comp: Jeff Stein (49-9.5-39.5) and Joe Karakai (49-9-40).
Saturday’s winner was Neil Graham (49-13-36) and runnder-up was Wayne Crew (52-16.5-36.5). Chris Cameron won the putting with 14.
Ball comp: Lachlan Whelan (41-4-37) and Doug Cameron (44-6.5-37.5).
Sunday’s winner was Lachlan Whelan with 32 points, and runner-up was Al Arnold 31.
Ball comp: Neil Graham 31, Jeff Stein 30.
Next Sunday is the second round of the championships, with tee off at 12.30pm. All golfers are welcome to play in the comp.
Jerilderie
Wednesday players attended Finley for their Women’s Open.
An enjoyable day was had by all our players.
Di Rutherford was the winner in Division Three net, as well as NTP.
The MND Committee would like to thank everyone for their support.
Another very successful golf and bowls day raised more than $20,000. A great effort for a town the size of Jerilderie.
Sunday was medley stableford won by Jamie Wilkenson with 37 points, runner-up was Harry Stonnill 36.
Ball comp: Harry Sutton 33 and Di Rutherford 29.
NTP: 5th Ian Taylor, 7th Lance Boardman, 15th Aaron Purcell, 16th Jamie Wilkinson.
Wednesday is Ladies Monthly Medal Medley Stroke and Sunday is Men’s Monthly Medal Medley Stroke and Ladies Golf NSW Goodwill Plate.
Monday is Southern Riverina Vets at Cobram Barooga.
