The Berrigan Curlews were 57-46 up after the two morning rounds and started strongly in the afternoon round, looking like they would cruise to victory.

The Curlews had to hang on for dear life and, despite losing all three games in the afternoon round, managed to maintain a six-shot margin to claim the shield.
Paul Glanvill and his rink of Jason Milich and Vidura ‘Panda’ Gunaratne were the difference with solid wins in the first two rounds.

On Saturday, Berrigan hosted Club Mulwala for a pennant practice match, which has become an annual tradition.
The slick greens combined with the swirling winds made conditions difficult for both teams and any lapse in concentration was punished.
While mainly an opportunity for practice, scores were kept and Berrigan won overall 102-83.
The best performing rink for the Curlews was Kura Goldsmith, Clare Harvey, Gavin Schweicker and Evelyn Reynoldson who won 27-10.
This Sunday, Berrigan will hold the annual Neville Burke-Mick Bush Open 3-bowl triples event, which also doubles as the official season opening day for the Curlews.
Spots are still available. Contact the club for more information.
The first rounds of the Mick Bush Open 100-up handicap event will be played on Saturday, September 23.
