Barooga won the toss electing to bat on a very quick surface.
Barooga started strongly with Jaimie Stanyer (33) and Lachlan Sutton (21) making the most of the quick surface, with anything beating the fielder going to the fence for four.
This continued for both Ethan Bovalina (17), who pushed the score past 100.
The Saints then reeled Barooga's batman in with some tighter bowling from Matt Ross (2-32), Luke Melville (2-28) and Jordan Swann (1-19) to have Barooga 6-122.
Riley Gow (58) started to hit out racing the score past 150 before Connor Thorntons (2-30) struck.
Barooga's tail wagged with Chris Goesch (14) hitting out at any opportunity, taking the Barooga score to 10-180 in the 33rd over.
In reply, Barooga struck early claiming Thornton (7).
Ross (24) and Melville (20) looked to have the Saints in control at 1-52, however continual bowling pressure from Sam Leigh (3-40), Gow (2-24) and Nate Leith (3-7) saw Andrew Parr (15) and Brad Loats (19) the only other Saints batsman to reach double figures for the innings.
This restricted the Saints’ ability to build any batting partnerships, and they were eventually bowled out for 133 in the third over.
Under-15s
In round one of the Under-15s competition, Berrigan/Finley took on Deniliquin in a one day match.
Berrigan/Finley won the toss, sending the Rhinos in.
They made the most of the opportunity, posting a score of 7-88, with Jaxon Rothe (30) and Darcy Finn (14) top scoring for the Rhinos.
Ollie Batten (2-2) and Jordan Swann (2-14) were the pick of the Berrigan/Finley bowlers.
In response, Deniliquin’s bowlers restricted Berrigan/Finley’s ability to build any partnerships.
Ollie top scored with 10 not out, and Berrigan/Finley finished 5-60 after their 25 overs.
This week, Berrigan’s B-grade side host Tungamah, the under-15s have the bye, under-13s are at home against Deniliquin and the under-11s travel to Strathmerton.
