Police responded to the reports and located two boys, aged 13 and 14, outside Shepparton Railway Station at around noon on Friday, July 3.
Police seized two knives from the pair and issued cautions to both of the teenagers.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said police had no reports of threats or injuries in relation to the incident, but have urged anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au.
The spokesperson said officers patrol the Shepparton shopping precinct and railway station area daily, in police vehicles and on foot, particularly during high foot traffic periods.
On top of daily patrols, police conduct regular operations to target public order, weapons and retail theft, she said.
Anyone who witnesses violence or anti-social behaviour is urged to call 000 immediately so that police can respond.
