After Jesus’ arrest, He was questioned and then severely beaten.
A crown of thorns was placed on his head and finally He was led to Golgotha where He was hung on a cross until he breathed his last breath.
The death he suffered was both humiliating and excruciating.
His disciples and followers were understandably downcast and troubled after everything they witnessed.
Jesus had tried to explain what was going to happen prior to his death but nothing could have prepared them for the horror that took place.
In their minds they thought Jesus would simply come back to life on the third day in victory and liberate the Israelites from their oppressors and establish His kingdom.
Little did they know Jesus’ plan was far greater.
As the suffering lamb He was about to defeat the powers of death and Satan for all the people of the world.
It wasn’t until Jesus opened their minds to the scriptures that everything became clear and finally they understood.
It was in that moment that Bad Friday became Good Friday.
This Friday let’s all remember what Jesus put himself through to bring salvation through repentance into the world.
Jesus died to open the door so that all who believe in Him should have eternal life.
