The event costs $5 per person or $10 for families and promises “good vibes guaranteed” for attendees.
Tennyson Recreation Reserve committee member Hannah Armstrong has been co-organising the event alongside Brooke Harry.
“The focus of the event is to bring the community together and have a laugh,” Ms Armstrong said.
“Any additional funds raised will go towards supporting future events, with plenty more planned throughout the year.”
The karaoke night aims to unite Tennyson's diverse population.
“The community is made up of a mix of new and long-term residents, as well as seasonal backpackers, who all contribute to the strong sense of community spirit,” Ms Armstrong said.
“Much like everyone else, we crave something to do outside of the everyday routines of work and school.”
Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening, with organisers ensuring there are options to suit all tastes and dietary requirements.
Organisers expect a broad turnout from the local area.
“We're hoping to see plenty of familiar faces, as well as new groups from surrounding areas,” Ms Armstrong said.
“The event is open to all who wish for a fun night out to sing, dance, watch, or simply for a feed.”
Ms Armstrong revealed her musical preferences for the evening.
“I am always keen to belt out some ABBA,” she said.
“Based on past events, crowd favourites like the Macarena and the Nutbush are always a hit, everyone gets involved to keep those classic, generational dance traditions alive.”
The event starts at 6pm on February 21 at 2342 Prairie Rochester Rd, Tennyson.
RSVPs are required for catering purposes and can be made through the Tennyson Recreation Reserve Facebook and Instagram accounts or by contacting Hannah on 0473 736 428.
