Bernie Biggs and his son Darcy operate the security firm, which specialises in event and project security in Deniliquin and district.
As well as providing high-quality security and alarm response services, the business is going above and beyond to expand its capabilities to service a growing demand in the industry.
Darcy said the business is growing to fulfil the ever-increasing security needs of the district.
“With what’s going on with more development and renewable projects in the region, it is time as a business, for Rural & Event Security, to expand on what we do.
“We’ve upgraded our licences and are a looking to merge into supplying mobile CCTV cameras for construction sites and community events.
“We’ve also added temporary fencing and mobile lighting towers to our asset base to meet our clients’ needs, particularly for short term events where we can be a one stop shop for all things security.
“There’s a saying that luck is when forward planning meets opportunity. Basically, that means to grow, we need to be prepared to have the services available when the need arises.”
Outside their growing security infrastructure and capabilities, Darcy said Rural and Event Security specialises in providing security at events and licensed venues.
“We do the door at the Deni RSL, and events like the Deniliquin Show and Edward Kolety Fishing Challenge. We also do other events that require crowd controllers, particularly for their liquor licence requirements.”
As Rural & Event Security continue to develop, Bernie and Darcy are actively recruiting.
The father-and-son team welcome anyone with existing security qualifications, or those interested in acquiring the necessary licences to join the team with ongoing casual work ideal for anyone looking for a second job.
