Liam Sutton and Joe Barker opened the bowling and kept the line and length nice and tight - especially Sutton who finished his spell with 1/11 off six.
Barker got the first breakthrough though in the sixth over, then Sutton struck straight after with an LBW.
Jeremy Packer bowled two maidens and snared a wicket in the 14th with a catch to Declan Cameron, then followed soon after with his second wicket.
He returned later with a third thanks to a catch by Tom White, to see him finish with a tidy 3/15 off six.
Reuben Haley kept the wickets falling with a catch by Toby Wane and Cooper Mangion took a wicket with his first ball and finished with 1/5 off four.
Toby Wane got his first wicket with a catch from Joe Barker in the 30th over, and Declan Cameron also snared a wicket on the first ball of his spell off a catch by Liam Sutton.
The youngster of the team, Chace Brunskill, showed promise in his first year of under-17s cricket, bowling well towards the end of the session.
Overall it was a strong start to the match with the young Bloods showing clean hands in the field and bowling tight with a collective eight maidens for the day to see Nathalia finish on 9/109 off 40 overs.

With the threat of another wash-out, the under-12 Bloods were all keen to play their away game against Katamatite.
The match was able to proceed when the weather improved.
Tocumwal lost the toss and were sent in to bat.
Arlo Haley and Archie Matters opened the batting, and both retired allowing Lucas Grieves to come in and top score for the team on 12 not out.
It was a great batting innings, with seven out of 10 batsmen retiring after facing their 15 balls not out.
Sam White and Nate Dickins both batted well contributing six (no) runs each.
Arlo (8 no) and Archie (7) came back in and faced the remaining overs until Archie was bowled on the last ball of the innings.
This left Toc with a respectable 4/89 off the 20 overs.
Sam White and Lucas Grieves opened the bowling, with Joel Harrison also bowling tight, keeping Katamatite to 0/19 off the first seven overs.
Then entered the youngest Blood on the team - eight year-old Max White, who took three wickets in his first over.
This Max-attack continued with him taking yet another wicket and also throwing a direct hit run out, single handedly removing five Katamatite batsmen.
With his final figures for the game 4/1 off three overs and a run out, Max was a well deserved player of the match.
Arlo Haley bowled tightly with 0/1 off two overs, as did Nate Dickins who got 2/12 off two overs.
Skye Chellew bowled well, taking a wicket with 1/6 off two overs.
The bowling was a credit to the young players and shows how far they have come this year.
They kept Katamatite to 7/57 off their 20 overs to take home a well deserved win.
