Zara Williams is off to High School State Athletics this Friday for discus at Homebush Sydney.
On September 23, the St Joseph’s Jerilderie Primary School PP5 relay team - Franky Bryce, Jackson Haas-Laing, Jobe Marshall and Monique Rochford - are off to Homebush Sydney to compete in the Mackillop Athletics Carnival.
A win would see them off to state and competing for the record PP5 relay time which is funnily enough currently held by the 2009 Jerilderie Public School relay team.
An extended congratulations to Monique who is also competing in the 11 years girls high jump at Mackillop athletics.

The Jerilderie Portsea Camp committee has opened registrations for children aged 8 to 12 years living in the Murrumbidgee Council area who want to attend the upcoming camp from January 10-January 16, 2027.
After some wonderful community donations, the cost to attend camp this year has been subsidised to $200 per child.
The excursion includes the bus trip to and from camp, meals, accommodation and five days of activities including snorkelling.

Knockin Boots line dancing is returning to the Jerilderie Sports Stadium on Friday, September 25 at 6pm.
Those who attended the last pop-up line dancing session have all commented on the wonderful time they had.
It is open to all ages, and you can save time on paperwork pre-registering by scanning the QR on the posters on the town noticeboards or just turn up on the day.

Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes a wonderful line-up of community performances to look forward to at the Jerilderie Civic Hall over the coming months.
Jerilderie Public School students are busy rehearsing their upcoming production, Back to Jerilderie, which will take to the stage on Wednesday, September 16. There will be a matinée performance at 12pm, followed by an evening performance at 6pm.
Not long after, St Joseph’s Primary School will bring plenty of entertainment to the Civic Hall with its annual Extravaganza on Thursday, September 24 at 6pm.
And, of course, one to mark on everyone’s calendar is the much-loved Jerilderie Flower Show on Friday, October 23.
For those with gardens beginning to burst into colour, now is the perfect time to give those potential prize-winning blooms a little extra tender loving care ahead of the show!
More information on Flower Show categories, entry details and times will be released closer to the day.

The Jerilderie Gold Cup is set for Saturday, September 26. The Race Club has been busy with a fabulous race program and activities to keep all entertained.

Local children will have the opportunity to attend the Riverina Youth Connect Coleambally Holiday Program these school holidays, with bus transport available from Jerilderie on September 28, 29 and 30.
The bus will depart from outside the chemist at 8am each morning, returning to Jerilderie about 5pm.
Families wishing to secure a seat on the bus are asked to contact Jacqui Robertson on 0491 183 557.
Registration forms for the Riverina Youth Connect Holiday Program will be available through the Murrumbidgee Council What’s On website, as well as in local school newsletters.

The Jerilderie Red Cross recently held its Father’s Day raffle, and would like to congratulate the lucky winners.
First prize was won by Barry Lodding, with William McGuinness taking out second prize.

EnergyCo is leading the delivery of the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), which extends from near Jerilderie in the east to Buronga in the West.
As part of this, EnergyCo is developing a Community and Employment Benefit Program (CEBP) to provide funding for initiatives that deliver lasting benefits to local communities and support employment outcomes across the region.
An initial $60 million will be invested, with additional funding expected over time. They are seeking community feedback on how the CEBP will be structured and currently have a survey for residents within the REZ.
The survey can be completed online by visiting the EnergyCo website. Alternatively if you need assistance finding the survey online, or access to the internet, the library can assist. The survey closes mid-September.
