Students have been creating a large scale mural with the help of local artist Jo Nathan.
The final design was revealed at a special ceremony on Monday, to which friends, family and Department of Education staff were invited.
The event began with a School Parliament session, which gave students a chance to share the process of designing and painting the mural with their special guests.
The students explained the idea of bird’s eye view perspective, and how the design of the mural was inspired by the local topography and farming life.
They explained the drawings they did, and how their drawings improved the more they practised.
Another aspect of the mural the students wanted to share was the hidden details – the highway, irrigation channels, stock and motorbikes, the local footy ground.
Even the school chooks and the school cat, Rosemary, have been featured.
Congratulations go to the young artists Andrew, Gabrielle, Samuel, Reuben, David, Melissa, Jewel, Victor, Ava, Lydia, Elijah, Olivia, Eden and Evan.
Thanks were also expressed to Blighty School staff for their support and generosity during the entire process.
This project was delivered by Outback Theatre for Young People, supported by Create NSW, Edward River Council and the Bullawah Community Grants Program from BayWa r.e.
