Curnow will take over from Leigh Williams, who coached the Pigeons for the past two seasons, as the club prepares for a new campaign.
The appointment comes after spending the past four seasons coaching Sandhurst in the Bendigo Football Netball League.
During his time at Sandhurst, Curnow guided the club to four consecutive senior grand final appearances between 2023 and 2026, including a premiership in 2024.
The coaching stint followed a successful period at Kerang, where he led the club to a premiership in 2022.
Curnow also brings VFL experience to the role, having spent five seasons playing with North Ballarat between 2011 and 2015 before returning to country football.
His coaching career has since included success across regional Victorian competitions, with his move to Yarrawonga is an opportunity to take charge of an Ovens and Murray club.
Curnow, who works as a teacher, will relocate to Yarrawonga with his wife Amy and their children, Goldie and Woody.
Yarrawonga Football Netball Club has acknowledged the work of its football subcommittee in selecting the new coach.
Curnow will now begin preparations for the 2027 season, with the Pigeons entering a new era under his leadership.
