Building of the the $1 million splash park in Nagambie’s Buckley Park is under way, with a confirmed water slide under construction.
The water park will be completed in late September and, based on community consultation, will also include a rainbow tunnel, a mushroom umbrella, tilting cones and splash buckets.
“It was wonderful to have so much input from Nagambie parents and children who will be the major users of the new splash park,” Strathbogie Shire Mayor Laura Binks said.
“The voting for the equipment for the splash pad design showed that we have a very engaged group of residents, both big and small, who are delighted to choose the equipment for this new facility now under construction.”
Toilet facilities in the area have been closed because they are within the construction site area.
The toilets will remain closed during the construction period, and council is working on providing an alternative solution.
