“We’re going to do some demos on the Australian art of whip cracking, and then we’ll have the opportunity for anyone who wants to come up and have a go to have a go,” KM Whip cracking entertainer Kiera Buzza said.
“We’ll teach them how to crack a whip after they’ve watched our demo come up.”
Kiera and her sister will be using Australian whips, each with their differences and benefits.
“We use Australian stock whips and will be using all of those, as we normally do, then we will also be bringing some bullock whips, which are a lot longer, a lot bigger, a lot louder and pretty cool.
“People that have been to the show before have probably seen a little bit of that, but we’re going to incorporate a lot more of that this year because it’s a bit of a crowd pleaser.”
For those attending, Kiera said the crowd’s enthusiasm translates into a more exciting show.
“We are really looking forward to the crowds,” she said.
“The crowds at the Seymour expo are always amazing, really, really enthusiastic and really happy to get involved.
“Speaking to crowds is kind of hard sometimes, but when they get people involved and get people enthused, especially when it’s something a little bit different that they might not know a lot about, but the crowds are always really great.
“It has a really nice family feel to the show, so we’re pretty excited about that as well.”
The pair originally got involved with the expo by running a competition, but have since moved onto demos and audience participation.
“We used to run a competition at Seymour and whip crackers from all over Australia would come down to compete, they were our Victorian titles,” Kiera said.
“We’ve now moved elsewhere as we like to move it around Victoria so that everyone can have an opportunity to come.”
