A number of irrigation systems will get an increase in water allocations following an update by the northern Victorian Resource Manager.
The seasonal determinations in the Goulburn and Loddon systems move from 73 per cent of high-reliability water shares to 76 per cent.
The Broken system increases from 47 per cent HRWS to 49 per cent.
The Bullarook system increases from 36 per cent HRWS to 38 per cent.
The Murray and Campaspe systems remain at 100 per cent.
Resource Manager Mark Bailey said rainfall and milder operating conditions made more water available for allocation.
“Rainfall across the catchments produced small flows into the storages and offset evaporation losses,” Dr Bailey said.
“This extra water in storage, combined with lower river operating losses under the cooler temperatures, provided the resource for the improvements announced today,” he said on March 1.
