One hundred Southern Riverina Veterans golfers played stableford at the March game day at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club on Monday.

The A-grade trophy was claimed by Malcolm Coombs from Cobram Barooga on 38 points, with Ron Huy from Club Tocumwal runner-up with 37.
Graham Huxtable from Cobram Barooga, after countback with 37 points, claimed B-grade from John Hadland from Club Tocumwal, also on 37.
Brian Taylor from Cobram Barooga took C-grade with 39 points, followed by Geoff Portbury from Jerilderie with 35 points as runner-up.
A-grade NTP was claimed by Ron Huy from Club Tocumwal.
No B-grade golfer could find their green for NTP.
C-grade went to Carmel Butcher from Club Tocumwal, and All Grades was claimed by Lenny Elliss from Yarrawonga Mulwala.
Ball winners were players who had 28 stableford points or better.
Jerilderie
A small but competitive field of players took part in the Medley Stableford pairs event on Sunday.
Playing a Split 6 format, the pairing of Ian Taylor and Shane Foster produced an outstanding round to win the competition with 59 points, comfortably ahead of runners-up Lee and Campbell Rowan on 44 points.

Overall, it was an enjoyable day of golf with several strong individual performances.
No midweek golf last week.

Wednesday's winner was Brendan Haintz (47-11.5-35.5), r/u Jeff Stein 37.5 net. Brendan Haintz won the putting with 13 and ball winner was Gail Browne 38 net.
Friday's winner was Rob Randall (50-14-36), r/u Steve Senini 37.5 net, Alan Arnold won the putting with 13 and ball winners were Gail Browne and Paul Nancarrow on 38 net.
Saturday's winner was Tom Baxter (48-14-34), r/u Judy Karakai 35.5 net, Chris Cameron won the putting with 14 and ball winners were Maria McDonnell and Gail Browne 36 net.
Sunday's winner was Omeo visitor Walter Bower on 31 points, c/b Spike Salter and ball winner was Joe Nicholls o30.
Next Sunday is Mixed Fourball - first round of Wilson's Cup, 10.30am for 11am tee off.

Finley
Annie Wood, with 39 points, was the winner of the ladies’ season opening stableford competition last Wednesday.
Ball winners were Julie O’Brien 38 points, Maree Doyle 35 points, Sharon Pyle 34 points, Helen McRae 33 points, and Kim McCaw with 32 points, on C/B.
NTP on the 13th was Jane Taylor.
In the men’s stableford competition, the winner was Rand Wilson with 29 points on C/B.
Ball winners were Alan Hand and Michael Taylor also with 29 points.
Thursday’s nine hole competition winner was Michael Taylor with 18 points.
For anyone interested in playing in the Thursday nine hole stableford competition, tee times are from 3pm to 5pm.
Groups will be drawn from those present at the club at 3pm, or organise your own group (if playing later) and ring the club to let the starter know.
Saturday’s competition was Monthly Medal/Club Brooch.
Men’s Division 1 winner was Barry Wilson 88/17/71 nett, while Division 2 and Nett Medal winner was James Braybon with 88/22/66 nett.
Scratch Medal winner was Ian Armer jnr with 73.
Men’s ball comp winners were Grant Shaw and Leo McNamara with 72 nett, Michael Dean, Ian Armer Jnr and Eric Dean 73 nett and Damien Angove 74 nett.
The club brooch was won by Sharon Pyle with 83/14/69 nett.
The women’s ball comp winners were Tess Dean 71 nett, Helen Wastle and Sharon Griffin 73 nett, and Julie Gregory with 74 nett.
Men’s NTP on the 18th was Daniel Griffin, and Mary Polkinghorne won the putting with 26 putts.
Sunday saw 60 local and visiting players compete in the Finley Men’s Open Tournament.
