Owner of Trigger Performance in Tocumwal Mr Haynes believes that in order for members of rural communities to stay healthy, then he and fellow trainer Lachlan McDonald need to be in the community.
“We have had a pretty big summer, we have been a part of some community programs at the Oaklands Community Gym as well as the Finley Community Gym,” Mr Haynes said.
“In addition to these we have just started our second J.A.D Program (Junior Athletic Development) here at our Toucumwal Facility and at the start of March will be having a Drought Relief Program.
“We are big believers in supporting and providing such programs as it allows us to show that at Trigger we are not just another gym.
“It's great to be able to work in with other towns and facilities and offer opportunities to the people of the shire the chance to better their health.
“Lachie and I are strength and conditioning coaches with strong backgrounds in competing at and coaching professional sport.
“We bring this to every individual we work with. We coach people to understand modalities, why, when and how when it comes to movement and movement prescription.
“We work in with and network with other coaches from around Australia and the world to bring these services to Tocumwal and surrounds.”
Growing up in Tocumwal, Mr Haynes sees the importance of engaging the youth of the community in physical activity at a young age but knows there's a lot more work to be done if this can be achieved.
“We want to give youth the opportunity and belief that just because you're from a small town, does not mean you can't do big things.
“We are a facility that is here for the communities of the shire.
“It's unfortunate to see the fitness industry where it is, but we want to get it back to where it should be. We want people to put their health as a priority.”
Mr Haynes is offering a diverse demographic the chance to work one on one with himself or Lachlan.
“As well as our classes, membership options and one on one sessions, we work in with children, teenagers, adults, mums, dads, grandparents, cancer patients, rehabilitation, Worksafe Victoria, NDIS as well as a list of local allied health professionals
“Regardless of where you're at with your fitness levels, we have a team ready to help,” Mr Haynes said.
