Hosted by the Finley Show Society, the trials will be held at the Finley Showgrounds from June 9 to 11.
Over the three days, organisers say attendees can see a number of well trained sheep dogs “go for gold”.
Contestants have 15 minutes to guide three sheep through an obstacle course and into a pen before the clock runs out.
Entrants have registered from all over NSW, the ACT and northern Victoria.
The trials attract many contestants and supporters every year, and has proven to be economically important.
The funds raised from contestant entry fees support the Finley Show Society’s other events throughout the year, including the Finley Show on Father’s Day each year.
Finley Show Society president Matt Mueller said the entire district community also benefits.
He said contestants and spectators boost the local economy through retail and food shopping, with some also opting to stay at local accommodation places.
There’s also the added advantage of some great entertainment in Finley over the King’s Birthday Weekend.
Spectators get in free.
Trialling runs from about 8am to 5pm on each day of competition.
