The girls finished in the top four teams in NSW out of 525 schools, in what was an amazing achievement for the girls and a very proud moment for Tocumwal Public School.
For their game, the girls took on Floravale Public School and unfortunately went down 28-11.
Floravale were a very strong, polished team and are reining champions in the state.
The Tocumwal girls played extremely well and fought hard right until the final whistle.
Throughout this entire knockout journey, the girls have grown individually and as a team.
Their skills, confidence, teamwork, determination and support for one another have continued to develop with every game.
Making the top four in the state is a huge accomplishment and something Tocumwal Public School has never achieved before in netball.
Thank you to Mrs Melissa Jones and Mrs Tanya Saraikin for their coaching and mentorship throughout the rounds.
This journey was a big undertaking for these girls families as well who send a big thank you to everyone who generously donated to support the team.
The girls and their families would like to extend their appreciation to Tocumwal Pharmacy, Palms Hotel, Lankester Plumbing, Tocumwal Lions Club, Woolworths Cobram, Countryside Blinds, The Boat Bloke, March’s IGA, Tocumwal’s Little Explorers, Tocumwal Foreshore Committee and Tocumwal Public School P&C.
Thank you to everyone to purchased tickets in the raffles or food from their barbecue fundraiser, and to the community for getting behind the team and supporting their journey to Sydney.
Well done girls, you have made our community very proud.
