Road resurfacing repairs are being carried out at Jerilderie Street intersection with Chanter Street to provide a safer and smoother road for motorists.
Provided the weather is conducive to roadworks, the intersection will be closed to traffic from today to Friday, between 7am and 5pm, “for the safety of motorists and workers”.
Motorists will be detoured via Corcoran and Drummond streets, adding an extra five minutes to journeys.
Local access to Chanter and Jerilderie streets will remain open via Drummond Street.
Motorists travelling northbound on Jerilderie St will be diverted through single lane closures.
Work to repair the road surface on Jerilderie Street between Chanter Street and Memorial Place is expected to be complete by Thursday, July 12,weather permitting.
Due to the weather forecast, further closures may be required at the intersection until this time.
Traffic control, signs and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of motorists and workers.
