The program aims to give small groups of Years 3 to 6 students the chance to spend time on the Edward River with a rod in hand, and the world slowed down around them.
Students rotate through a handful of favourite local spots, learning the basics of casting, knots, river etiquette, and other skills, while building stronger connections with each other and the adults supervising them.
They also learn the two most important traits of a fisherman - patience and perseverance!

The program is all about calm mornings, quiet chats on the bank and the simple thrill of waiting for a bite.
It’s become a popular activity at the school, with families and the school community praising the way it gets kids outdoors, talking, learning and respecting the river environment.
