Created by Façon Australia and supported by principal partner Greater Bank, the scholarship, also known as the Djuyalgal Scholarship, provides financial assistance, mentorship and opportunities for artists to share their work with wider audiences.
Applications are now open for the 2027 program, with one recipient to receive a $10,000 scholarship. The remaining eight finalists will each be awarded $1,000.
Façon founder and editor-in-chief Lara Lupish said the scholarship had grown beyond its original vision, becoming a community of artists, mentors and industry leaders committed to supporting the next generation of Indigenous storytellers.
Model and advocate Samantha Harris has been named the 2027 ambassador.
The mentor line-up includes Damian Smith (dance), Melissa Greenwood of Miimi & Jiinda (fashion design), Cassie Leatham of Yanggurdi (accessory design), Warren Taggart (photography), Gerard Black (digital art) and Jake Gablonski (writing).
Applications on March 7, 2027. Further information is available here.
