Mr Taylor has had four works selected for the exhibition, which opens this Saturday and will see artists from across Australia compete for more than $60,000 in acquisition prizes.
The annual event is regarded as one of regional Australia's premier sculpture showcases, attracting hundreds of entries and thousands of visitors each year from October 10 to 25.
Keep an eye out for a future edition of the Pastoral Times, where we'll take a closer look at Stuart's artistic journey and the works selected for exhibition.
HSC exams begin
Next Tuesday marks the start of the 2026 HSC exams, with English Paper 1 kicking off what will be a challenging few weeks for Year 12 students across the state.
The HSC examination period runs from October 13 through to November 5, before results are released on December 16.
The Pastoral Times would like to wish all Deniliquin High School students, and every local Year 12 sitting exams this year, the very best of luck.
After months, or even years, of study, preparation and assessment tasks, this is your chance to show what you know.
It’s important to note the exams are not the be all and end all, and if you are struggling it’s important to reach out for help.
School’s back
School zones will be back in force across NSW on Monday, October 12, as the new school term officially begins.
Motorists are reminded that 40km/h school zone limits still apply wherever signs indicate and are urged to take extra care around school precincts, with enforcement now active for the term.
It is important to keep an eye out for young people crossing the road or riding their bikes on the way to school.
PT vox pops
Were you lucky enough to be interviewed on the street during the Spirit of the Muster Street Festival on Tuesday night?
Branching out into video, journalist Rowan Frazer hit the streets to ask attendees about the festival, the Deni Ute Muster and Deniliquin overall.
The videos can be viewed on our Facebook page, at www.facebook.com/DeniliquinPT under the ‘Reels’ tab.
We thank the Deni Ute Muster and the NSW Government Open Streets Program for supporting this video vox pop series, and to everyone who took part.
Fine weather ahead
After a chance of showers during the early hours of Saturday morning, the weekend is shaping up to deliver ideal spring weather across the region.
Saturday is expected to start cool, with temperatures falling to around 13°C before climbing steadily throughout the day.
While a shower or two is possible overnight and before dawn, conditions are forecast to clear by mid-morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies and a pleasant top temperature of 23°C.
Ideal for the first round of cricket, with two Deni Rhinos teams playing at home.
Sunday looks even better, with clear conditions overnight leading into a bright, sunny day.
Temperatures are forecast to range from a chilly morning low of around 7°C to a warm and comfortable 26°C during the afternoon.
No rainfall is expected on Sunday, with sunshine forecast throughout the day and light, pleasant conditions continuing into the evening.
The forecast should provide ideal conditions for outdoor activities, a pleasant change after the muddy Ute Muster weekend.
Asthma alerts reminder
Speaking of the weather, now is a good time for residents affected by asthma or hay fever to sign up for the region's thunderstorm asthma alert service.
Coordinated by Charles Sturt University for the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, the service monitors local pollen levels and issues alerts when weather conditions create an increased risk of thunderstorm asthma events.
It's one of those things people don't think about until the first storm rolls through. A couple of minutes spent signing up now could save a lot of worry later.
