Students in Years 5 and 6 at both Tocumwal Public School and Sacred Heart School Tocumwal were challenged to design a banner that represents Tocumwal.
The club’s judges remarked that with “so many creative kids in Tocumwal”, selecting a winner was a difficult one.
But the honour went to Toc Public student Samuel Borg after much deliberation.
Sam's winning design.
Toc Public said as part of its approach to the competition, students discussed what makes our town special.
They spoke about gliders, aeroplanes, the old bridge, camping, and many other local icons.
Many of these were incorporated into Sam’s design, which also showcased bird life and the popular pastime of fishing with your trusty dog at your side.
“All students produced outstanding designs, and the judges had an extremely difficult task choosing just one winner,” Toc Public said.
“Well done to all students for their creativity and effort, and a big thank you to the Tocumwal Lions Club for providing this wonderful opportunity.”
