The small building to the rear of the former hardware shop, now the Tocumwal Rotary Shop, has now been removed. This work is an interim measure while the Berrigan Shire Council develops a long-term master plan for this precinct, with the aim of providing additional off-street parking and new commercial space.
It has commissioned a landscape architect to assist with the masterplan, which includes the existing off-street car park, the old motel site and Barooga St between Murray and Morris streets.
There will be a formal process to seek the views of Tocumwal residents and visitors as part of the design process.

The 2023 Massive Murray Paddle/Murray Marathon will be arriving in Tocumwal on November 20 (day one) then depart on November 21 (day Ttwo).
The crews are strong in numbers, with most teams staying in Tocumwal for the Sunday and Monday nights.
If the roads in the forest (Tocumwal to Picnic Point) are wet or in poor condition, then day two will be a repeat of the day one course of Yarrawonga to Tocumwal.
It will be great to see this group in town during this time, as its participants traditionally are enthusiastic about supporting our local community.
