It was a gold medal for the St Joseph’s Jerilderie Primary School PP5 relay team at the Mackillop athletics last week at Homebush Sydney.

The team comprised of Franky Bryce, Jackson Haas-Laing, Jobe Marshall and Monique Rochford, with a time of 1.01.34, coming in just two seconds off the Mackillop 2012 record.
Their fantastic result now sees them heading back to Sydney in late October to compete at the NSW State Championships.
The state record for the PP5 relay, which is a race designed for the four fastest students in small primary schools with 54 or less enrolled children, is coincidentally held by the 2009 Jerildiere Public School relay team secured at an incredible 54.48 seconds.
Well done to the team. We will all be cheering you on when you hit the track again next month.

Congratulations to Trent Robinson and Del McMillan of Jerilderie, who tied the knot on the weekend in Mulwala.
The couple planned a beautiful weekend at a house overlooking Lake Mulwala, with the wedding kept as a surprise for their children and families.
It was a small and intimate affair, with their children, Del’s best friend and her husband, and Trent’s best friend and his family there to celebrate.
For Trent and Del it was all about the marriage rather than having a big wedding, with a relaxed ceremony tailor-made to include the kids, who certainly made sure it was a day to remember!
With a few sick children thrown into the mix, son Henry screamed for most of the ceremony while daughter Matilda slept through about 80 per cent of the day.
There was nearly another memorable moment for all the wrong reasons when the best man handed Trent his ring and dropped it.
The ring took off along the boardwalk towards Lake Mulwala, getting within about two inches of going straight into the water before the celebrant made a very impressive dive and stopped it!
A few little hiccups, plenty of laughs and certainly a wedding story they will be telling for years to come.
Congratulations Trent and Del, wishing you both many happy years ahead!

What perfect weather we had for the Jerilderie races on Saturday!
It was wonderful to see another great crowd trackside enjoying one of the highlights on Jerilderie’s annual calendar.
The celebrations kicked off on Race Day Eve with the drawing of the Race Club’s 100 Club, with congratulations going to Tanya Rorato who took out the major prize.
I was also thoroughly impressed by the large number of entrants who embraced the new Local Lady of the Day category in Fashions on the Field.
It was great to see so many local ladies frocked up and getting involved; I think it is safe to say the new category was a very welcome addition to the day.
Congratulations to the Jerilderie Race Club committee and all their helpers for the tireless work that goes into putting on such a marvellous event each year.
There is an enormous amount of work behind the scenes, both in the lead-up and across the weekend, and once again the committee delivered a fantastic day.
