Ms Matthews has a background in finance and has worked in the dairy industry.
While she is originally from Queensland, she now lives in Bendigo, where she works as Greater Bendigo City Council rates and revenue team leader.
Ms Matthews is looking forward to being able to use her financial knowledge to help assist and create a positive outlook for the community and the healthcare system.
Ms Lindsay also has a background in finance and has worked in the water industry.
Hailing from Red Cliffs, she now calls Rochester home and works as Foodmach’s head of service and business development.
“Regional areas like ours rely so much on local services,” Ms Lindsay said.
“I am looking forward to contributing in a meaningful way to the strategic objectives of REDHS, ensuring that REDHS services continue to thrive.
“Living in the Rochester community, certainly through the recent devastating flood event, emphasised the exceptional value of a smaller community.
“The coming together, lending a hand and checking in on others, made me proud to be part of this community.”
REDHS board chair Chris White welcomed the two new directors to the board.
“Jenna and Narelle’s financial expertise will assist REDHS in fiscally navigating the re-establishment of services and the new Victorian Health Service Plan, ensuring due diligence is followed with our budget and monitoring,” he said.
“This expertise, combined with Jenna and Narelle’s strong sense of community, will contribute greatly to the development of the board.”
Both Ms Matthews and Ms Lindsay have been appointed for a two-year term.
They join REDHS board chair Chris White, deputy chair Brad Drust, and directors David Rosaia, Jim Brooks, Emma Millard, Anne-Marie Kelly and Melissa Silk.
Cafe RED has also opened, in the main reception precinct of the hospital.
The cafe is open from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm, features hot and cold meals and snacks, as well as coffee and drinks.
Prices are subsidised by the health service, whose kitchen staff cook and prepare all food in-house for clients, patients, residents and visitors.
