‘A Cuppa and a Chat’ will be held every Thursday morning from 10.30am at the Finley RS Club, beginning April 16.
The initiative is being coordinated by Murray Hut CWA in conjunction with the Finley RS Club, with the aim of providing a relaxed and welcoming space for people in the community to enjoy some company over a cup of coffee or tea.
The weekly gathering is open to anyone who would like to get out of the house, meet new people, or simply enjoy a friendly chat.
Members of Murray Hut CWA will be present at each session to welcome guests and help create a warm and inclusive environment.
The Finley RS Club has generously offered to host the event, with club staff preparing the coffee and tea for attendees. Participants will simply be asked to make a gold coin donation to help support the initiative.
Local businesses have also stepped forward to support the program.
Finley IGA will be supplying the coffee beans, while Tuppal Dairy will provide the milk used each week. Finley Bakery will supply cakes and slices.
Organisers hope the initiative will become a regular social outlet for people who may be experiencing loneliness or who would simply enjoy the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed setting.
A Murray Hut CWA spokesperson said ‘A Cuppa and a Chat’ is about creating a simple, friendly space where people can come along, have a coffee, and enjoy good company.
“Sometimes the smallest opportunities to connect can make the biggest difference.”
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. A gold coin donation would be appreciated.
