Mr Ward has completed the highly regarded Leadership for Excellence program through the Harvard Principals’ Centre, held in Sydney.
He was awarded a competitive $7000 scholarship to cover tuition, accommodation, meals and travel, enabling Mr Ward to participate in the intensive leadership program.
Mr Ward described the experience as “outstanding”, highlighting the opportunity to learn directly from Harvard University lecturers from the USA and to collaborate with close to 100 principal colleagues from across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
“The course was exceptional,” he said.
“A highlight was learning from world-class Harvard lecturers and working alongside principals from a wide range of school contexts, sizes and regions.
“The knowledge and insights gained through the program would directly benefit Finley High School and its students.
“I’m hopeful the learning will enhance my leadership, inspire others, and ultimately contribute to improved educational outcomes for all our students.
“I was proud to share the Finley High School story and my leadership journey with colleagues from across the region.”
Following the successful completion of the challenging program, Mr Ward plans to apply for the highly competitive Harvard Scholarship in the USA, to further strengthen his commitment to leadership excellence and continuous improvement in education.
