While an avian influenza outbreak has forced the Melbourne Show to cancel its poultry sections, Finley Show Society president Kevin Sexton said until the group is advised otherwise “nothing has changed” in planning for the September 1 Finley Show.
“We are yet to hear from the two governing bodies on any advice,” Mr Sexton said.
“Once we hear from them, we will pass that information on.”
Show Society members will continue to monitor the situation and follow any directions provided by the governing bodies - The Exhibition Poultry Association of NSW and the Victorian Poultry Fanciers Victoria Ltd.
It is hoped more advice will be received by the next Finley Show meeting, in a fortnight.
