After dedicating more than four decades of his life to the agricultural industry, Finley local Peter Mills is retiring.
Peter started out his career in October of 1980 as junior stockman at Mortlakes, being trained under Roy Mort himself.

Over the next 11 years Peter was appointed branch manager of Mortlakes in Heyfield, Gippsland and Timboon.
Two years later in 1993, when Wesfamers purchased Dalgety, Peter was appointed Victoria’s first “Meat Bid” manager and played a pivotal role in the introduction of “Over the Hook” sales for the state.
And just a year later he was promoted to National “Meat Bid” manager.
The following year, in 1995, Peter became the franchisee of Wesfarmers Mills of Finley.
Peter sold the franchise back to Landmark in September 2017 and has remained the rebate livestock agent in Finley since.
Now Peter has decided it’s time to relax and will be passing the baton to local livestock agent, Marc Braybon.
Marc is an agent with Nutrien Ag Solutions, Deniliquin branch.
Peter and Marc will be taking some time to travel around to each of Peter’s clients and introduce Marc, doing their best to ensure a smooth transition.
The Nutrien team will be celebrating Peter’s career and wishing him all the best by holding a farewell dinner at the Country Club Hotel.
The dinner will be held on Friday, August 4, starting at 6pm, and all are welcome to wish Peter well.
