The award recognises innovation, new technology, and the latest research outcomes adopted in the rice industry.
Growers can self-nominate or be nominated by fellow growers, agronomists or industry stakeholders.
And nominating is easy. Simply visit the Rice Extension website and complete the downloadable pdf form.
The nomination form asks for details on the farm business, focusing on: Production and agronomy, innovation and technology, business management, workplace health and safety, sustainability, and industry and/or community involvement.
Successful finalists will continue to on farm judging. A judging panel will assess the finalist farms against set criteria during a two hour farm tour and interview.
The winner will be announced at the Australian rice industry awards dinner and receive an individual award and recognition on industry honour roll, $5,000 to be spent on personal or business development and two complimentary tickets to the Australian rice industry conference awards gala dinner.
Th grower is automatically nominated for the Australian Farmer of the Year Award, and becomes a member of the crop year 2025 judging panel.
