The NSW Primary Schools Sports Association and Combined High Schools competitions will both be held in Denilqiuin in late April.
The group has been training consistently, two to three times a week since November, in preparation for the swim season.
Representing Tocumwal (and their respective schools) will be Jimmy Crawford, Thomas Braybon, Billy Farrell, Milla Saraikin, Ivy Farrell, Chelsea Bell, Kobi Jones, Lily Baldwin, and Kai Ford.
The 8-10 years junior boys 4x50m freestyle relay will feature Billy Farrell, Jimmy Crawford, Thomas Braybon and Kai Ford, while the 11-13 years senior girls 4x50m freestyle relay will be swum by Ivy Farrell, Milla Saraikin, Kobi Jones, and Chelsea Bell.
Finley High School student Lily Baldwin, now in Year 7, will contest the 13‑years girls 100m freestyle.
Several of the senior girls previously competed at the PSSA level and are looking forward to returning to high‑level competition.
For many of the younger swimmers, the focus is on the experience and the opportunity to represent their schools and the shire on the state stage.
Coaches Geoff and Kerrin Edwards have guided the squad through the season, with strong support from the community.
Appreciation was also extended to Berrigan Shire Council for keeping the pool open beyond the end of the season, and to Anne Logie, who volunteered her time as a lifeguard throughout the extended training period.
