After considerable self-nomination, public speaking, peer and staff voting, and an interview, the school leadership team at Finley High School is now firmly in place.
The 2024 leadership team includes captains Roree Wallis and Sarah Bauer, vice captains Claire Ingram and Faith Vidler and prefects Riley Sutton and Daisey Daniel.
Principal Jeff Ward said as the most significant student leaders in the school, they will be expected to be an ambassador who embodies the school’s values.
“They must be approachable, reliable and trustworthy, with high expectations of themselves and others,” he siad.
“The school leaders are expected to take an active role in all aspects of the school community and work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes.
“Expectant responsibilities include communicating effectively with staff and students and being a positive role model to others with presentation, uniform, attendance and excellent behaviour.”
The leaders also address the school and community at school assemblies and other functions.
They will also be active in the school community and build harmonious relations within the school.
Leading and being an active participant on the student representative council are requirements of the leaders, who will also meet with Mr Ward regularly and contribute to the fortnightly newsletter.
