The woman charged with the alleged murder of Mark Akers near Jerilderie has been remanded in custody.

The woman was originally arrested in relation to Mr Akers’ death in July this year, in Melbourne.
Last Thursday, extradition to NSW was re-applied for in the Melbourne Magistrates Court and granted.
Detectives attached to Murray River Police District transported the 40 year-old woman to Deniliquin Police Station, where a warrant was executed for murder (domestic violence).
She was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 5 on Friday and was again bail refused.
Murray River Police District police were called to the Newell Highway, about 11km south of Jerilderie, about 12.35pm on Tuesday, June 17.
The body of a man, later confirmed to be Mark, was found on the side of the road.
He had suffered critical injuries, allegedly as a result of being struck by a car.
Just days before his body was discovered, Mark had been reported missing from Queensland.
A woman accused of murdering Mark Akers was extradited to NSW last week, and an arrest warrant executed in Deniliquin.
It is believed he was travelling from Queensland to Melbourne with a female companion.
He was last seen alive leaving a service station on Southey St, Jerilderie about 2.30am on June 16.
He was in an all-black 2021 model black Toyota Landcruiser 200 series with distinctive pink stickers on the windscreen, heading toward Finley.
Strike Force Zaventem was established after the discovery of Mark’s body, and investigations commenced into the circumstances.
About 1.20pm on Wednesday, July 23, Victoria Police executed a search warrant at a home in Hampton Park, Victoria where the 40 year-old woman - who police say was known to Mark - was arrested.
During the investigation, Mark’s father, John Akers, described his son as “the kindest soul who would do anything for anyone, and was sadly taken from us too soon”.
“We are devastated by his passing and miss Mark terribly. We need a swift resolution and peace for Mark,” John said in July.
