A stringed instrument craftsman with more than 60 years of making and repairing violins, guitars, banjos and cellos is bringing his services to Echuca this weekend.

Roger Buckmaster studied violin-making in London, establishing himself as a respected figure in the industry, opening his own music store, and taking his expertise to more than 80 towns and cities across the country.
Since retiring, he’s dedicated himself to travelling around the country, buying old and damaged violins, repairing stringed instruments and re-hairing bows.
“I’ve done over 4000 (bows),” Mr Buckmaster said.
“I think I should probably be in the book of world records.”
Mr Buckmaster’s experience speaks for itself, working with some of the rarest instruments in the world, including five Stradivarius violins, which he estimates to be worth around $5 million each.
He’ll be in Echuca from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 2.
