Live your best life until Jesus returns

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” (John 14:3-4 NIV)

This Sunday we will celebrate that Jesus defeated death for us at Calvary, and rose from the grave.

No other God has ever risen from the grave, and had more than 500 witnesses to the event.

Our scripture today reminds us that for all those who believe in Jesus, He has gone to prepare a home for us and that one day He will return and take us to be with Him.

So how should this knowledge inform the way we live our lives?

We are called to live in the tension of knowing that Jesus can return at any moment to take us home, but also living our best lives until He returns.

We are called to occupy until He returns.

To occupy means to build and be productive using all our God given gifts and resources to flourish in this life.

The best gift we can give someone this Easter is to share the hope we have in Jesus.

Jesus is the only way. Jesus is our eternal home.
