Principal Jeff Ward said the selection process was designed to highlight merit, character and student voice.
Students wrote letters, prepared speeches and took part in interviews, ultimately a vote decided by staff and peers selected the 2027 School leaders.
“I’ve been here eight years, and we pick the best four leaders that we have available,” Mr Ward said.
“There’s no gender considerations, we look at each person individually.”
Elliott said he hopes to encourage a culture of care and engagement.
“I hope to see students enjoying themselves as they learn, caring for one another and their environments,” he said.
Logan said he aims to be “a strong voice for the student body,” adding, “I’m a straightforward, get‑it‑done kind of student who works well with all types of people to create a safe and friendly environment where everyone’s opinion is valued.”
Daphnie wants to bring creativity and energy to the role.
“I want school to feel fun. I enjoy planning events, coming up with new ideas and making things feel fresh.”
As for Jordahna, she wants to be an approachable leader for students who don’t always feel confident sharing ideas.
“I could be the person students come to with ideas they’re too shy to share. Being a leader isn’t just about being serious, it’s about being empathetic and willing to help all.”
The newly elected team will represent Finley High School across academic, sporting and community events for the final term of this year and throughout 2027.
